PositiveLibrary JournalDisappointingly, insights into Aidan’s character, his motives, or his backstory are never revealed. Despite these small complaints, this debut novel is hard to put down.
Lexie Elliott
PositiveLibrary Journal... a great thriller with lots of red herrings and a blindsider of a twist ending.
Megan Miranda
PositiveLibrary Journal... riveting ... Another successful mystery thriller from Miranda. The perfect suburban setting; the secretive, quirky neighbors; three unsolved murders; and an Agatha Christie vibe make this whodunit an excellent beach read.
Megan Miranda
PositiveLibrary JournalThis is a great whodunit, done well. Olivia/Arden narrates but Miranda creatively uses media transcripts, newspaper reports, book excerpts, and voicemails to piece together her fragmented story that ends with a chilling twist.
Sarah Pinborough
PositiveLibrary Journal... the sparks between Keisha and Jason are hard to miss. The story is well written and, though none of the characters are especially likable, the twists are surprising ... A mix of steamy sex, lies, secrets, betrayals, murder, and a dash of voodoo, Pinborough\'s latest novel (after Cross Her Heart) will keep readers guessing until the very last chapter. A twisty thriller for fans of Liane Moriarty\'s Big Little Lies, Gillian Flynn\'s Gone Girl, and Paula Hawkins\'s The Girl on the Train.
Christian White
RaveLibrary JournalWhite exceeds readers’ expectations after his supersuccessful debut, with strong, complex protagonists in Abby and Kate and notable secondary characters who are well developed. The plot never stops and the clever twist is thrilling.
Sara Shepard
MixedLibrary JournalNone of the suspects are likable: Kit is shallow and vain and constantly looking for the excitement of love and lust; Laura is wishy-washy with an unbelievable story line. Raina is a vapid seductress. The plot is all over the place, a crazy mashup of Mr. Robot, CSI TV shows, and Real Housewives. The #MeToo movement is also thrown into the mix ... Shepard is very well known for her Pretty Little Liars series. Fans of the book and adapted television show will most likely enjoy her latest.
Riley Sager
RaveLibrary JournalSager delivers a psychological, creepy, and unputdownable thriller ... Likable characters, great writing, just enough twists, and a Rosemary’s Baby vibe will make this a summer hit. Purchase for Stephen King and Gillian Flynn fans.
Jennifer Cody Epstein
RaveLibrary Journal...hard-to-put-down ... Epstein does an amazing job of showing how Hitler\'s reign changed the German people through the characters of these two close friends ... This latest from Epstein...starts slowly but builds to a twist ending, bringing these two story lines to a satisfying conclusion. Give this to fans of Kristin Hannah\'s The Nightingale.
