MixedThe San Francisco Book Review... something completely new and different ... The writing is, of course, wonderful, although overall the reader is left feeling somewhat confused and a little bored. The sparseness of details about who the character is and what their life is like makes it hard to connect with them. They seem unhappy and unimpressed with everything and spend their time complaining. It isn’t until toward the end of the book that the reader actually sees some connection with each chapter and that the events occur chronologically. Overall, it’s a little disappointing.

PositiveThe Manhattan Book Review... haunting ... Schwab has written a moving, powerful tale of what it’s like being immortal, but also a woman in our world.

MixedSeattle Book ReviewThe story uses a language and voice that some might consider a little bloated and slow, though others will be entranced by it. So its recommended that you read a few pages first to get a feel for whether you’ll like the book or not.
