A fiendishly clever serial bomber and self-styled eco-terrorist who calls himself "Green Man" hits targets across America—and a conflicted young FBI agent may be the only person with the unique skills needed to catch him.
Mr. Klass, an experienced screenwriter, incorporates shifting points of view and a score of diverse characters with well-developed back stories. His top-notch thriller builds toward a fateful showdown as Tom races to foil Green Man—even as the hands of that apocalyptic clock tick toward midnight.
Author and screenwriter David Klass turns the serial killer mythology on its head ... Klass...writes in terse, straightforward prose. Chapters alternate between Smith and the Green Man’s point of view, allowing a close-up perspective of each character’s motivations and desires. While his intentions may have some merit and his deeds may cause readers to stop and think, you know the Green Man’s going down. The fun is in the thrill of the chase, and in that respect Klass delivers.
This entertaining if predictable thriller...is timely, the pacing is pedal-to-the-metal, and Klass does a solid job of creating three-dimensional characters out of Smith and Green Man—but the conclusion is far too obvious. Hopefully, the author will include some big plot twists or revelations in his next outing.
