White Noise asked, 'What if death is nothing but sound?' a horrific, dull and eternal background noise. Zero-K seems to give us an answer to that question in the book’s middle-section containing the inner thoughts of a frozen body: Death isn’t senseless noise, but an eternal babble of thought, 'the nightmare of self drawn so tight that she is trapped forever.'
